Echinops cyrenaicus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Libya. Nama ilmiah Echinops cyrenaicus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ernest Armand Durand pada tahun 1910.
