Echinops fraudator merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Iraq utara dan timur laut hingga Iran barat. Nama ilmiah Echinops fraudator pertama kali dipublikasikan pada tahun 1988.
