Echinops ilicifolius merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Iran timur-tengah. Nama ilmiah Echinops ilicifolius pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexander Andrejewitsch von Bunge pada tahun 1863.
