Edrastima uniflora merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur, Karibia, Brazil tenggara, hingga Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Edrastima uniflora diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Constantine Samuel Rafinesque pada tahun 1834.
