Eichhornia crassipes adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan tumbuhan air (hidrofit) dari famili Pontederiaceae yang hidup menahun. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Eichhornia crassipes diperkenalkan oleh Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1883. Nama ini merupakan sinonim dari Pontederia crassipes.
