Elegia altigena merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Restionaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah SProvinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Elegia altigena pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Neville Stuart Pillans pada tahun 1945.
