Elegia capensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Restionaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Elegia capensis diperkenalkan oleh Nicolaas Laurens Burman pada tahun 1967.
