Elegia macrocarpa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Restionaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Elegia macrocarpa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 2005.
