Elegia rigida merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Restionaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Elegia rigida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Maxwell Tylden Masters pada tahun 1885.
