Eleocharis atropurpurea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis dan subtropis hingga Amerika Utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan purple spikerush. Nama ilmiah Eleocharis atropurpurea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anders Johan Retzius pada tahun 1828.
