Elephantopus hirtiflorus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Venezuela (Bolívar, Monagas), hingga Brazil. Nama ilmiah Elephantopus hirtiflorus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1836.
