Elephantopus tomentosus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan devil's grandmother. Nama ilmiah Elephantopus tomentosus diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
