Eleutherococcus sessiliflorus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Araliaceae (suku mangkok-mangkokan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rusia Timur Jauh hingga China utara dan Korea. Nama ilmiah Eleutherococcus sessiliflorus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Franz Josef Ruprecht pada tahun 1980.
