Elymus hirsutus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kepulauan Aleut hingga Amerika Serikat bagian barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan northern ryegrass. Nama ilmiah Elymus hirsutus diperkenalkan oleh Jan Svatopluk Presl pada tahun 1830.
