Elymus semicostatus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Afghanistan hingga Himalaya. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan drooping wildrye. Nama ilmiah Elymus semicostatus diperkenalkan oleh Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1978.
