Eragrostis atropioides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hardstem lovegrass. Nama ilmiah Eragrostis atropioides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis William (Wilhelm) Hillebrand pada tahun 1888.
