Eragrostis capensis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Rep. Kongo, Ethiopia, Afrika Selatan, hingga Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Eragrostis capensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1830.
