Eragrostis chapelieri merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan, Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Eragrostis chapelieri pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1841.
