Eragrostis lepida merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur laut, Kenya, hingga Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Eragrostis lepida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Achille Richard pada tahun 1854.
