Eragrostis racemosa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eritrea, Afrika Selatan, Seychelles, hingga Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Eragrostis racemosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1854.
