Eriachaenium magellanicum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Chili selatan hingga Argentina selatan. Nama ilmiah Eriachaenium magellanicum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Heinrich "Bipontinus" Schultz pada tahun 1855.
