Erigeron thunbergii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Rusia Timur Jauh, Jepang (Honshu). Nama ilmiah Erigeron thunbergii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Asa Gray pada tahun 1858.
