Euonymus japonicus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Celastraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Korea, Jepang, hingga Nansei-shoto. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan japanese spindletree. Nama ilmiah Euonymus japonicus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1780.
