Euphorbia capitellata merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arizona selatan hingga Texas barat daya dan Meksiko. Nama ilmiah Euphorbia capitellata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Georg Engelmann pada tahun 1859.
