Euphorbia chamaepeplus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania timur hingga Iran dan Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Euphorbia chamaepeplus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1859.
