Euphorbia hooveri merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah California tengah. Nama ilmiah Euphorbia hooveri pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Louis Cutter Wheeler pada tahun 1940.
