Euphorbia hypericifolia merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan) yang memiliki siklus hidup semusim (annual). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika . Nama ilmiah Euphorbia hypericifolia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
