Euphorbia telephioides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Florida timur-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan telephus spurge. Nama ilmiah Euphorbia telephioides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alvan Wentworth Chapman pada tahun 1860.
