Euphorbia tirucalli adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semisukulen dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan) yang berbentuk perdu atau pohon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Madagaskar. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan indiantree spurge. Nama ilmiah Euphorbia tirucalli diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
