Exacum teres merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Gentianaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nepal hingga China (Yunnan). Nama ilmiah Exacum teres pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nathaniel Wallich pada tahun 1820.
