Fagus orientalis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fagaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bulgaria timur hingga Kaukasia. Nama ilmiah Fagus orientalis diperkenalkan oleh Vladimir Ippolitovich Lipsky pada tahun 1898.
