Festuca asthenica merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) di wilayah Himalaya barat. Nama ilmiah Festuca asthenica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Otto Stapf pada tahun 1896.
