Festuca hondae merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Taiwan. Nama ilmiah Festuca hondae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Evgenii Borisovich Alexeev pada tahun 1981.
