Festuca longifolia merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa barat. Nama ilmiah Festuca longifolia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Louis Thuillier pada tahun 1799.
