Ficinia capitella merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Ficinia capitella pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1835.
