Ficus bubu merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Moraceae (suku ara-araan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Ficus bubu diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Otto Warburg pada tahun 1904.
