Ficus vermifuga merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Moraceae (suku ara-araan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil (Bahia timur hingga Rio de Janeiro). Nama ilmiah Ficus vermifuga diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel pada tahun 1867.
