Fothergilla gardenii adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Hamamelidaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari North Carolina hingga Georgia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan dwarf witchalder. Nama ilmiah Fothergilla gardenii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1774.
