Freziera tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Pentaphylacaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Selatan bagian barat hingga Venezuela barat laut. Nama ilmiah Freziera tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Hipólito Ruiz López pada tahun 1847.
