Fuirena nyasensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Malawi. Nama ilmiah Fuirena nyasensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ernest Nelmes pada tahun 1954.
