Gahnia hystrix adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia Selatan (Pulau Kangaroo). Nama ilmiah Gahnia hystrix pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John McConnell Black pada tahun 1927.
