Galactia volubilis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan downy milkpea. Nama ilmiah Galactia volubilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nathaniel Lord Britton pada tahun 1894.
