Galium monticola merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape (Clanwilliam). Nama ilmiah Galium monticola pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Otto Wilhelm Sonder pada tahun 1865.
