Garnotia fuscata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Sri Lanka tengah. Nama ilmiah Garnotia fuscata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Henry Kendrick Thwaites pada tahun 1864.
