Garnotia stricta adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun atau semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga Pasifik. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan blue lawngrass. Nama ilmiah Garnotia stricta diperkenalkan oleh Adolphe-Théodore Brongniart pada tahun 1832.
