Gastridium phleoides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania hingga Iran utara dan barat, Eritrea hingga Afrika Selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan nit grass. Nama ilmiah Gastridium phleoides diperkenalkan oleh Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1954.
