Geocharis rubra merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Zingiberaceae (suku temu-temuan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kalimantan (Sarawak). Nama ilmiah Geocharis rubra diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Henry Nicholas Ridley pada tahun 1908.
