Gladiolus merianellus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Iridaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya (Semenanjung Cape selatan). Nama ilmiah Gladiolus merianellus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1784.
