Gladiolus papilio merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Iridaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Afrika Selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan goldblotch gladiolus. Nama ilmiah Gladiolus papilio pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1866.
