Glossostigma diandrum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Phrymaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh di dalam genangan air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Kenya utara, India, Sri Lanka, Australia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan mudmats. Nama ilmiah Glossostigma diandrum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Ernst Otto Kuntze pada tahun 1891.
